Isaac and Grace are three!! I find it hard to believe these happy, wonderful twin of ours are already three years old. Oh how we love them. They bring so much joy, happiness and craziness to our family.

They love each other, too. It has been so much fun to see their friendship blossom lately.

They have become much more creative in their play, together and alone.

Both of them adore their big sister. Emma is {almost} always happy to play with them and read them stories.

Isaac and Grace especially love it when Emma chases them. They like to be captured and tickled and wrestled with. Gracie can’t quite say the word capture, it comes out more like “cappage”. It is so cute to hear her asking Emma to “cappage me!”. Isaac could wrestle and play all day so he loves it when Emma indulges him, even when it ends with him in a straight jacket!

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not all butterflies and rainbows. As much as they love to be with each other, they also fight plenty. They are definitely typical siblings. They also know how to bug Emma and can really push her buttons. But for the most part they get along well.

Books and storytime are still favorites for both of them. A trip to the library is a treat. As always, I love to see them looking at books and reading stories to each other.

As much as they like to play together and do many of the same things, they still have their definite interests and distinct personalities.

In no particular order, Isaac likes cars, trains, Legos, superheroes, construction vehicles, farm equipment, the color blue, and running fast like Lightning McQueen.

He has the funniest facial expressions and cracks us up with the things he says. For some reason he loves the words “chicken nuggets”, he says “Kachow” when he is particularly pleased with something, and says “what the heck” way more than we would like. He is very sensitive and gives the best hugs and kisses. He says he wants to be a missionary when he grows up and then, depending on the day, a worker, farmer, and/or train conductor. When he wakes up in the morning he immediately wants to get dressed. No lazing around in his pajamas for him! We have been very impressed with his ability to know where we are in the car and how to get home. He is still an expert whiner…

Gracie likes princesses, dolls, making pretend food, the colors pink and purple, organizing, and most of all coloring, painting and doing projects. She is very good at coloring and can quite often be found at the table with a box of crayons, markers or colored pencils. She loves to paint and asks me every day what project we are going to do.

She likes anything girlie and is always thrilled when Emma offers to paint her nails. She likes to watch me cook and is content to sit on the counter next to me while I make lunch or dinner. She also likes to sing and we love to hear her sweet little voice singing her favorite songs. She is a charmer and loves to wave and smile and people. She would rather be without clothes, or nakey nudey as she calls it, but when does get dressed she has a very strong opinion about what she wears. She likes to look good and accessorize! Gracie is extremely determined and independent. That can be good and bad…

There are no more diapers at our house. As exciting as that is, I was sad to put away the basket of diapers that has been sitting in our family room the last three years. They are growing up! Thank goodness they don’t think they are too old for their cribs or naps. They haven’t even tried to climb out of their cribs yet and I am happy to keep them in there. They love to take naps and go down better at naptime than they do at bedtime these days!

One more thing of note. Isaac and Grace are convinced they are going to marry each other. They talk often of Gracie wearing a white dress and being a princess at the temple while Isaac will wear a coat (suite coat) and a striped tie. Oh, they are so cute!

Three is a good age, it will be a fun year!
