Balayaged Emma

November 7, 2016

Emma really wanted to get her hair balayaged.  Thankfully Lanna was willing to give her a bit of a deal, and it’s a good thing Emma has a job and can pay for her own extras!  Here’s the before.

Goodbye Soccer, Hello Basketball

November 5, 2016

Isaac and Grace had a great soccer season.

10-1-16 soccer game (1)

I really like the league they are playing with.  It is super laid back.

The teams are co-ed so they can play together.

And Coach Nick is great with the kids.

Isaac and Grace really like to play soccer and they both improved quite a bit this year.

They were very pleased to get medals after their last game.

Right after that last game we went straight home and got ready for their first basketball game.   Goodbye soccer, hello basketball!

After the basketball game they got to go to a multi-team soccer swim party.  Emma was the lucky lifeguard that day.  It’s fun to watch her in her element.

We took the Rice girls home from the party.  It was pouring down rain but I made the kids stop for a picture.  You can tell how Gracie felt about that!

The rain reminds me of why I like the indoor sport of basketball!  :)

Current Evans Events—October 2016

These are actually pictures from August that I found on Lee’s phone, but it was funny enough that it needs to be kept for posterity.  Lee’s favorite treat ever is peanut M&M’s. So when Isaac asked him if he wanted the rest of his M&M’s of course Lee said yes.

But Lee quickly realized that Isaac had sucked the chocolate off all the peanuts.  He’s not a fan of the peanut part.  Lee was a little disappointed Ha!

Another funny Isaac story.  He came home from school on picture day with fluffy hair and a comb.  He told me that the picture people gave him the comb.  I asked if he combed his hair before or after pictures but he couldn’t remember.  I reminded him that curly hair SHOULD NOT be combed.  Unless of course you want a fro.

Good thing  I don’t buy the school pictures…

I don’t know where Emma was, but she texted me and told me I had to take a picture of the sunset.  It was a good one.

She also had fun at the homecoming game.

While we were at the temple supporting Jordyn Coon as she received her endowment.  #ocwewent

Emma went to the homecoming dance with friends the next night.

Grace is determined to learn how to make cookies from the best.  I’m glad there will be someone to take over after Emma leaves home.

Grace insisted that I take a picture of this mushroom on the church lawn after church one Sunday.  It was a pretty cute mushroom!

We had a landscaper trim our trees in the back yard.  It had been too long and there were too big for us to do on our own.  They look much better now.

Our new library finally opened!  I was there right when it opened.  Kind of exciting!

Grace gave Isaac a flower mohawk.

Grace loved the free reign to paint the artist smock for her Halloween costume.

We finished reading the second Harry Potter book so we watched the movie.  They were a little scared of this one, but they loved it.  Good thing they had their brooms ready!

The official grand opening of the library was a few days after the soft opening.  Isaac REALLY wanted to go to the ribbon cutting ceremony so we went.  A lot of people talked and it was pretty boring, not what Isaac expected at all.  But the cool library cake made up for it.

I spotted some peppermint bark ice cream at the store and had to buy it.  Lee was not upset about that.  It was good, but needed more chocolate.  Let the peppermint season begin!

Little Bit was very patient with these kids.

Grace was SO excited about the Halloween treats and crafts she made at Activity Days.

Isaac stayed busy performing his own science experiments.  Good thing he got real safety goggles for his birthday.

Emma helped Grace put together her birthday Legos.  I think she had just as much fun as Grace did!

The last soccer practice of the season was a parents vs. kids game.  Of course it was pouring down rain and we got completely drenched.  It was so much fun though.  Totally worth it.

Isaac was thrilled with his new bike.  Thankfully the weather was good enough to get some riding in.

I painted a lot of popsicle sticks green for Isaac and Grace’s teacher.  Later that day I realized that I also painted my ring!

The Rice’s were nice enough to take Isaac and Grace to DQ for their birthday.

And finally, this beauty of a picture.  Lee and I went with the Sunderland’s to Tom Gibb’s haunted house in Tigard.  We liked this prop.  Can’t wait until next year!
