Christmas day came!
Eddie showed up one last time to remind us again the true reason for the season.
He was looking at the baby Jesus that was in the manger that we filled with hay throughout the Christmas season. Thank you Granny and Grandpa for the gift that helped us to remember the gift of His Son.
The kids gathered in our room that morning for scriptures and prayer and we reviewed our gifts to the Savior for that year.
Then we finally let them out to see the tree.
I love those first looks!
Santa did not disappoint.
Grace got the doll clothes and nativity set she had asked for.
Emma got food for her swim meets and tickets to see Newsies in the spring.
Isaac got a skateboard and a nativity set, along with a few little toys in his stocking.
Lee got his usualy M&M’s and a coupon for a glass blowing class.
We started the pickle tradition this year. After we were done with stockings the kids had to look for the pickle ornament hidden in the tree.
Emma was the winner so she got to be the first one to open a gift.
We had a good morning with happy kids, lots of smiles and lots of thank yous.
My favorite is watching the kids open their presents from each other. Grace was so excited to give Emma the cutest elephant ornament.
Isaac was thrilled with the journal that Emma gave him.
Grace was just as happy with the mandala coloring book that Isaac gave her. I love all the hugs!!
The kids were so excited to give Lee his present from them. They each wrote a letter to him telling how he has helped them fly along with a gift certificate for iFly. He loved it.
Emma, Grace and I went to a mother-daughter ornament exchange party before Christmas and Grace went to great lengths to be sure she got this airplane ornament so she could put it with her letter to Lee. It was so sweet and it will be a reminder on our tree for years to come of their gift to their dad.
After the present opening was done we ate our yummy breakfast of cinnamon knots and then got to work playing with new toys.
That included playing with the selfie stick that Emma gave me. :)
Then we headed up to Granny and Grandpa’s house for more present giving and opening.
Isaac and Grace were super excited to get Apples to Apples Jr. They have been asking for it.
Later we went to Grandma Dorothy’s for Christmas dinner. Oh it was delicious. Here is Emma showing off her food baby, George.
We played games.
Which included a very rousing and crazy game of Tenzi with Howie’s family. That was our new family game this year and we loved it. So fun!
Sandy was so nice to play dolls with Grace.
It was such a good day with family. We topped it off by finishing A Christmas Carol in the car on the way home. Perfect way to end the day!
