On Monday we took a trip to the library, a favorite summer activity. I had to take this picture to document Isaac’s current obsession with the Hardy Boys. He is flying through all the books our library has.
I worked on the poster for YW Camp. It will show all the countries our Camp Groups represents. He hears ALL of our prayers!
Kristin and Granny took the kids to Washington Park to play. I stayed home to work on camp stuff. They had a great time.
It ended on a scary note though. They took the shuttle back to the parking lot and when they got there realized that Isaac wasn’t with them. He was getting a drink of water and was left behind! Granny and Kristin freaked out and Kristin went back to find him. By this point Isaac realized they had left and he was pretty worried himself. He looked for them but stayed close to where he had been. He said a prayer, got a little teary and waited. He was very happy to see Kristin when she found him! They enjoyed a relieved shuttle together back to the car.
Grace had rehearsal that night.
Lee and the twins enjoyed some helium sucking that night as well.
Kristin took the kids to Murase Park to play in the fountains on Tuesday. The only picture I got was when I picked them up since I stayed home to work on more camp stuff.
That night all the YCLs came to our house for one last meeting/party before YW Camp. They tie dyed their camp shirts. It was super fun, but very messy!
They also put together all the lanyards.
It was a crazy, but really fun night. Those YCLs are amazing young women. I’m lucky to be able to work with them. After they left Emma helped Isaac and Grace to tie dye their own shirts with the leftover dye. They were so excited!
The next morning Isaac “cuddled” with Emma on the couch. Silly kids.
My mom and sisters came over that day to help me with some camp stuff. I was so thankful for their help!
I finished up the poster.
The kids played so happily together. They have a lot of fun!
The boys spent the night at our house that night. They were cracking us up with their antics.
Meanwhile the girls were getting all crafty at Granny’s house.
I spent the evening with more YW Camp prep. The story of my July!
On Thursday morning I gave into the pleadings of the boys to go to the Lego store.
Each of them bought something and they were super excited about their purchases.
At Granny’s house Avery was doing Grace’s hair.
We all went to the temple that afternoon so Grandpa could do baptisms with Emma and Parker. Kristin, Tenley and I went in with them. It was such a great experience to be there together and to do family names.
Granny walked with the kids around the grounds and took them to the visitors center.
I love all these people. So grateful to know that we can be together forever.
To make it even better we stopped for frozen yogurt afterwards.
When we got home I took a picture of the twins in their new tie dye t-shirts. They were so excited about them! They turned out great.
That evening Emma went to a party, Lee had church meetings, and I worked on camp stuff while the twins went with the rest of the family to Camp Russell at Howie’s house. They had a blast playing in the river, as usual! It was nice of Kristin to pick them up and bring them home to me.
They got home in time for Grace’s rehearsal. Isaac wasn’t too happy about having to go with me, but I loved his little duck tail!
The play was really starting to take shape and it was fun to see.
More camp prep!
Friday morning found this outside the bathroom door. I guess it was a warning? How nice.
Kristin saved the day again by taking the kids to Sauvie Island to play while I, you guessed it, work on camp stuff.
That night I met Lee at the temple for the YW Camp session. I was so happy to see him coming up the stairs! We went out with friends afterwards. I love the peace that the temple brings to all those last minute preparations.
Grace had rehearsal on Saturday. I was started to understand all the scene prompts that were hanging up. This was all new to me and it was a little confusing to get Grace where she needed to be.
This particular rehearsal was long and boring for the kids.
There was a lot of waiting and I still wasn’t totally comfortable with the supervision for the kids. The backstage rooms were super hot (the AC was broken) which made it all even more stressful for me. The things we do for our kids!
The craft room was filling up with camp stuff at this point!
That night was our ward Pioneer Day celebration at the Newgren’s. It was a beautiful night and we had a yummy barbeque dinner and fun with our ward family.
Sunday was all about church and MORE camp prep! I had several to-do lists going and I made sure everything was done or could be completed on Monday. Camp week here we come!
