Grace loved the simple ballet class she took in July. She had several friends in the class and she loved learning the ballet positions and the cute little dance they learned to Music Box Dancer. It all ended in a performance for family and friends.
She was really nervous that night about performing, but she did a great job and was all smiles afterwards.
I’m so glad that Amanda offered these classes, it was perfect.
Lee and I celebrated 18 years of marriage on August 1, 2015. How is it possible that it has been 18 years?! What a good 18 years it has been. We decided to spend the day hiking in the gorge. We got out the door a little later than we wanted so we decided to stop for some breakfast. McDonalds won out. Neither of us like McDonalds, but a McDonalds breakfast isn’t so bad. We got a good laugh out of going to McDonalds for our anniversary! We are so fancy.
My phone had ended up at the bottom of the pool at a party we went to at the Isom’s house the night before. It had been sitting in rice all night so I was hoping to get it working again as we drove to the gorge. No such luck. It was done for.
I was just a little bummed, but it couldn’t ruin our day. We hiked to Angel’s Rest and it was a beautiful hike. I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
Their were gorgeous vistas everywhere we turned. Except at this point we ran into a drunk guy going to the bathroom, we saw more than we wanted to see!
The view from the top was amazing!
We will definitely be doing that hike again, the uphill was worth it!
After the hike we stopped by an AT&T store and found out that a replacement phone wouldn’t be quite as expensive as we thought. Thank goodness for insurance! Still not money we wanted to spend, but it was doable. With that happy news we decided to have a more Portland style lunch than McDonalds. We went to Chicken and Guns which is a food cart we had heard really good things about. The rumors were all true, the chicken was delicious. The avocado sauce on top was so yummy!
The Creperie was right next door (next cart?), so we had to get a nutella and banana crepe for dessert. Oh yum.
It was such a great morning. We finished off our anniversary later that night by making copies of the Sacrament Meeting program for a friend. We copied, folded and inserted just like we did when we first met at Kinko’s 18 1/2 years ago!
Oh how I love this man. Nobody I’d rather have spent the last 18 years with!
Not many random pictures to post for July. I’m sure some were lost on that water logged phone. It was such a fun filled month, we loved it!
Emma had a great month of July. She finished June on a high from YW Camp, and then went right to EFY. She loved every minute of EFY! Ashley was her roommate again this year and they loved the other girls in their group. I’m so glad she had such a good, fun and testimony building week.
From EFY she went right to our ward Youth Conference at Lost Lake. She loved that too! She was a youth leader this year and had a great experience. I love all these good activities for youth.
She also got some driving time in this summer. I still can’t believe we’re old enough to have a teenage driver! I sent this picture to Kristin warning her that Emma was driving her kids around. Kristin wasn’t too afraid, she trusted Emma.
Grace started the cutest little ballet class in July with several friends. A YW from our stake was offering inexpensive dance classes for a few weeks. We don’t have many dance options in Canby and this was exactly what Grace needed. She loved it!
Good thing we had gotten some good, early use of our pool because it turned bright green one day. It was gross!
I love making summer pies!
Lee taught the kids a little chess.
July wasn’t all play for me. I worked more for my boss that month than I have ever worked in the almost 9 years I have worked for him. It made for some crazy days and late nights for me. Please disregard the laundry and messy house and the hiked up shorts in this picture. One of the kids must have taken it when I didn’t know it. It is a good representation of what I was doing when we weren’t playing though!
We did make it to one free lunch with friends. Isaac and Grace were happy, they love to go!
Finally, this is what happens when you play too much! His snoring was making the rest of us laugh. Play hard and rest hard.
