Soccer in September

Soccer started in September.  The first game was just what you would expect in Oregon.  It rained.  A lot.  This was my view from under my umbrella.

It didn’t seem to stop these two and their teammates. 

Thankfully there is a dad who shares his pictures with us, which are much better than my phone pictures.  This is the first year they have goalies, and Isaac has been especially happy about that.  He likes to be the goalie.  It makes me nervous!

She is a good defender but prefers to play forward. 

Isaac keeps going no matter what,

even when he is karate chopped!

He is also a good defender, but prefers to play forward and goalie.

He gets so excited when he scores, but is just as excited when a teammate scores. 

I love how he celebrates with his teammates.

Coach Nick is their coach again this season.  He is great and the kids love him.

The next game was sunny and almost hot.  A complete turnaround from the first game!

It’s going to be a great season!

Father & Son Campout

September 16-17, 2016

I should probably title this post the Grandpa & Grandson Campout.  Grandpa Mike was nice enough to take Isaac to the campout while Lee was out of town. Isaac was beyond excited and was so happy that he got to go with Grandpa.

He was most excited about the activities, and they had plenty of good ‘ol boy fun planned.

Shooting the BB guns was what he was looking forward to the most. 

Look at the smile on his face!  He REALLY wants a BB gun. 

Good thing they kept going in the rain, because they got a lot of it.  That didn’t seem to dampen Isaac’s enthusiasm though.  He came home all smiles and told us all about his adventures.  A huge thank you to my dad for taking him!  Lee was disappointed that he couldn’t go, but we knew Isaac was in good hands with Grandpa Mike!

Apple Cider Pressing

The Price’s invited us to press apples for fresh apple cider.  The twins and I were the first people to arrive so we got to start filling the buckets with apples.

Then other friends started coming and we starting cutting and pressing those apples.

I wish I had a picture of all the apples that we pressed.  There were so many and the apples just kept coming!  The Price’s apple trees produced a lot.  The Holt’s also added their apples to the mix.  Karan estimated that we prepped and pressed more than 2,000 apples!

We took a break for lunch.  This is a picture of some of us that were there.

Then it was back to pressing. 

There is nothing like fresh pressed apple cider!  It tastes like fall.

The kids had a blast.  They would help for a while, then play, then come back to help, and then go back to play.  They picked apples and brought them to us, they took the empty boxes away, and took their turns at the cider press.  They ran around the Price’s property, played on the tire swing and the play equipment, and shot arrows.  Grace and Isaac were so excited about the bows and arrows.

I was most excited about the fresh apple cider we got to take home!  We ended up with 6 gallons.  I am rationing those gallons.  So delicious! 

It was also a great Saturday spend with my twinners and with good friends.  We were thankful to the Price’s for sharing their bounty with us.

I love this time of year.
