April 24-30, 2017

This week was a busy one filled with normal stuff like YW Camp meetings, visiting teaching, piano lessons, swimming lessons, etc.
Wednesday night was the school academic spring showcase.  Isaac and Grace liked the science experiments

Emma left these math notes at home so I sent a picture to her.  Looking at this made my stomach turn.  Glad I don’t have to do that anymore!4-26-17 Emma's math
Speaking of turning the stomach…the YW and YM had a Fear Factor night.4-26-17 Fear Factor (1)4-26-17 Fear Factor (2)
They did and ate some super disgusting things, as evidenced by Emma’s face in this picture.4-26-17 Fear Factor (3)
Some of the kids, not Emma, even ate a delicacy in the Philippines called balut.  It’s a developing bird embryo that is boiled and eaten from the shell.  So gross.  I am so impressed that those kids actually ate it. Emma said there was no way she would ever even consider it.

Emma was telling me one day that she wanted a pair of hightop Vans.  A few days later I found a pair on clearance for Isaac that were super, super cheap.  I had to send a picture to Emma of Isaac’s new shoes.  She wasn’t too happy.  ;)4-26-17 Isaac's new shoes
On Thursday night I went to a card class at Marge’s house.  I love making those cards!  Friday was full with a wedding luncheon for Mikayla Rollins and her new husband and that night Ellie Leder’s wedding reception.  It’s the beginning of the wedding season for sure!  Saturday was a super busy day.  But it started out like this:4-29-17 reading
At least for the kids.  Lee started the day on the roof unclogging gutters.  I don’t like it when he is on the roof, it makes me very nervous.4-29-17 Lee on roof
Emma’s third round of prom, this time for Canby, was today.  So we spent the morning doing some last minute preparations, picking up the boutonniere and getting her hair done at Danielle’s again.  Then I took her out to Molalla to her friend's house where they were going to finish getting ready.  The night before Isaac hadn’t slept well.  As the day went on I started to suspect he might have an ear infection.  So inbetween the craziness I took him to the doctor.

I thought he looked so handsome! 4-29-17 Isaac ear infection (3)
He was still well enough to laugh hysterically at a picture in a magazine.4-29-17 Isaac ear infection (4)
It was pretty funny.

Sure enough, he had an ear infection.  We hurried off to get his prescription filled and then we headed to the Isom’s for MiKayla’s wedding reception.  The Isom’s sure know how to throw a party.  The reception was beautiful, the company great, and the dinner was amazaing.  We were sad that we had to jet out of there a little earlier than we would have liked, but we needed to get back to Molalla for prom pictures and to see the kids off.  Emma looked beautiful…again!   Her date Jarod was handsome and very polite and attentive.  4-29-17 CHS Prom (7)4-29-17 CHS Prom (3)4-29-17 CHS Prom (4)

The rest of us were pretty pooped after that.  Since we had to leave the Isom’s before dessert was served we headed to Mike’s Drive-In instead.  We deserved that ice cream!4-29-17 Mike's Drive-in (1)4-29-17 Mike's Drive-in (2)4-29-17 Mike's Drive-in (3)
Isaac didn’t last long in bed that night.  He slept much better, thank goodness for modern medicine!

Sunday was much more relaxing.  We went on a walk and Grace collected a flower arrangement.  The end of another busy week!

April 10-16, 2017

We started our Easter Week on Sunday with a quick discussion of Palm Sunday.  It really wasn’t worthy of that special day!  We got more earnest with our celebrating on Monday when we went to the temple.  We went there to remember that Jesus cleansed the temple.  He brought peace there, just as He can to our home and our hearts.  It was a beautiful evening at the temple.

We ate dinner in the car that night, Domino’s Pizza.

On Tuesday we dyed our Easter eggs.

On Wednesday we watched some Bible videos while we ate our dinner.  Vidoes of some of the parables that Jesus Christ taught.  On Thursday night we had a Jerusalem dinner.  It wasn’t authentic at all, but it helped us to remember the Last Supper.  We watched videos while we ate that dinner as well.

There wasn’t school on Thurdsay or Friday that week.  On Friday Isaac and Grace made Borax crystal eggs.

They also got a little silly.

Later that day we made Resurrection Rolls as we discussed what happened on Good Friday.

Lee and I went to the temple for ward temple night.  Perfect place to be right before Easter.

When the festivities were done I went to MiKayla Rollins’ bridal shower.  Emma had yet another prom to get ready for!  Nathan Pederson had asked her to the Molalla High School prom.  Emma was pretty excited to say yes!  A different friend came to do her make-up this time while I was at the shower.  Then Grace got to go to an Easter egg hunt with a friend.

When her make-up was done Spencer came to do her hair.  He did a really good job, it looked beautiful.  He’s got talent.

While she was gone Isaac and Grace went to the Sunderland’s for a birthday party.  We took advantage of being kid-free and went to dinner with the Parker’s.  It’s always a fun time with them!  On Sunday we went on an Easter walk.
