Gracie is asking what we did this week.
Looks like I was doing YW Camp prep, and Grace was playing with the talk bubble before swimming lessons. Emma was busy with ACT and SAT prep, which she needed an ID picture for.
She must not have been too busy to still get some reading in! I will miss this scene.
I went to school for lunch this week, but I can’t remember why! Sure love this Gracie Lu and her good friend.
We got a brand new set of pans this week. I used the little frying pan for the very first time, and ruined it. For some reason I didn’t turn off the heat when I was done cooking my egg. I wasn’t very happy about that! It’s still usable, but it looks awful.
That day I helped at school in the morning, then went right to help at the jog-a-thon. Mrs. Johnson’s class was ready to run.
And run they did!
Isaac and Grace were happy with the number of lap bracelets they got, and of course the Otter Pop afterwards.
I went home to eat a quick lunch and then went back to the school for the read-a-thon assembly. Isaac and Grace were the winners for their grade. They read the most out of all the 2nd graders. For their prize they got to make their principal, Mrs. Sweitzer, into a human s’more. First they helped her get into protective gear.
Then she was doused in chocolate.
Next, Isaac and Grace got to help cover her in marshmallow liquid.
Then she was covered in graham cracker crumbs.
It was pretty gross, and funny.
Even more gross, the kids started eating it off of her.
Isaac and Grace were pretty happy that they got to participate in that. Keep up the good reading!!
Friday night was star gazing for the 4th years and YCLs for YW Camp. It was at the Isom’s house which is always a party. Tons of food and cool telescopes for the young women to use. It was a great night, with an opportunity to lay in the grass and watch the heavens while contemplating the love of our Heavenly Father. Isaac and Grace were all tuckered out on the way home.
Grace went to a birthday party the next morning, and then got to go on a long awaited Daddy Daughter Date to the bowling alley. She and her dad had fun together!
Isaac was initiated into the world of lawn mowing. Lee’s dream has finally come true! Isaac did a great job for his first try. Lee couldn’t be happier to turn this job over to his son.
Emma went on a fun date that night to Glowing Greens and back to our house for a movie. The next day was full with church, meetings, Primary music, and a missionary homecoming. All good stuff!
